Bimetal Parallel Groove Clamp — CAPG Series
CAPG bimetal parallel groove clamp for reliable tapping and joining of overhead conductors.
Single-bolt / double-bolt / tri-bolt options to match mechanical load and fault-level requirements.
Grooved, tin-plated contact surfaces for low resistance and corrosion protection.
Compatible conductor ranges from Cu 6–240 mm² and Al 16–300 mm² (model-dependent).
Overview — CAPG Series Bimetal Parallel Groove Clamps
CAPG clamps are copper–aluminium parallel groove clamps designed for
tapping and splicing of distribution lines. The bimetal construction and grooved profile provide
stable, low-resistance contact between dissimilar conductors, while the bolt options (single, double,
tri-bolt) offer the required mechanical strength and fault-current capability.
Body: Aluminium alloy with copper contact plate (bimetal) |
Bolts/Nuts: Hot-dip galvanized steel |
Application: Cu/Cu, Al/Al, and Cu–Al transitions on overhead lines
Model Selection — Conductor Ranges & Bolt Styles
| Type | Copper (Cu) | Aluminium (Al) | Sort |
|---|---|---|---|
| CAPG-A1 | Cu 6–50 mm² | Al 16–70/12 mm² | Single bolt |
| CAPG-A2 | Cu 10–95 mm² | Al 25–150 mm² | Single bolt |
| CAPG-B1 | Cu 6–50 mm² | Al 16–70/12 mm² | Double bolt |
| CAPG-B2 | Cu 10–95 mm² | Al 25–150 mm² | Double bolt |
| CAPG-C1 | Cu 16–120 mm² | Al 16–120 mm² | Double bolt |
| CAPG-C2 | Cu 50–240 mm² | Al 50–240 mm² | Double bolt |
| CAPG-D | Cu 35–240 mm² | Al 35–300 mm² | Tri-bolt |
Installation Notes
- Clean conductor and apply oxide-inhibiting compound for Al or Cu–Al transitions.
- Fit conductors in parallel grooves; tighten bolts evenly to specified torque.
- Re-tighten after thermal cycling if required by local standards.
