Metal Cable Gland — Brass & Stainless Steel M Thread Waterproof Gland
Robust metal cable gland made of brass or stainless steel 304/316.
Features PA66 and EPDM sealing rings for IP68 waterproof protection.
Full metric thread range M8×1 to M100×2, suitable for industrial and marine installations.
Overview
Metal cable glands with metric thread provide sealed, strain-relieved entries for cables in harsh and industrial environments. Bodies and locknuts are brass (nickel-plated) or stainless steel 304/316, while sealing elements use PA66 and EPDM for long-term IP68 waterproof performance. The design resists salt water, weak acid/alkali, alcohol, oil and common solvents.
Key Features
- Thread: ISO metric (M). Full size range for cabinets and machinery.
- Materials: Brass (nickel-plated) or stainless steel 304/316 for A/C/F parts; PA66 for the compression component; EPDM rubber for the sealing elements.
- Protection: IP68 when correctly assembled and tightened.
- Working temperature: −40 °C to +100 °C continuous; up to +120 °C short term.
- Excellent pull-out resistance and wide clamping range; smooth nuts for fast assembly.
Applications
- Control panels, junction boxes, marine and outdoor lighting where a robust metal cable gland is required.
- Automation, instrumentation and process equipment exposed to oils or solvents.

FAQ
When should I choose stainless steel instead of brass?
Use stainless steel (304/316) for highly corrosive environments, marine areas or high temperature zones. Nickel-plated brass offers excellent strength and corrosion resistance for most industrial applications.
How do I ensure IP68 with a metal cable gland?
Strip only the outer jacket where the seal grips, insert the cable fully, then tighten to the specified torque until the EPDM seal is compressed and no gap is visible. Avoid overtightening to prevent thread damage.
